Are AirPods worth the hype?

I have a pair of Bluetooth enabled noise cancelation headphones that H got me years ago for when we travel. Honestly, I don't think they're that comfortable, and they take up a lot of room in my carry-on.

There are times when I like to listen to podcasts, etc. when working in the yard, etc. Don't really want to wear wireless headphones doing that, so I'm looking into AirPods. I guess my hesitation is I am skeptical that they really stay in the ear while moving around... on the other hand, I see all kinds of people wearing them out and about and they seem to stay in their ears.

Upsides and downsides of owning them???

I wear air pods at the gym and when I'm on my riding lawnmower. No problem keeping them in. I'm not a big fan of wireless devices close to my brain, so I try to limit it.

I don’t listen to music a lot with them, but when I do, the quality is very good. I use them most for phone calls.

The newest pro version have features such as noise cancellation as well as 3 (I think) different size ear inserts if someone has smaller ears.

I don’t think mine have ever fallen out-and I do have smaller ears—-the old Bluetooths, etc. were quite uncomfortable. These I often forget I have them on.

So I made the leap, bought them, and just charged them up.

Curious, we are traveling tomorrow - just a 2-hour flight, and we'll be away three nights. How long does your charge last? Do I need to bring the charging cord with me? Or will a full charge get me through until Sunday when we return?

btw... Apple Store sells this model for $249. I got the same model at Costco for $199!
